Dr. Rania Seliem is a senior physician and head of the Laboratory at Rashid Hospital, Dubai Health, with nearly two decades of clinical leadership in hematopathology. Alongside her distinguished medical career, she is a passionate advocate for autism awareness and inclusion—an advocacy shaped profoundly by her personal journey as the mother of a teenager with autism and ADHD.
Driven by lived experience and professional insight, Dr. Rania has led school-based educational programs, parent workshops, and community advocacy initiatives across the UAE. She was honored to serve as the first ambassador for The Blue Café, a pioneering initiative promoting autism understanding, and has shared her voice at major platforms such as the International Autism Conference in Abu Dhabi.
Her advocacy focuses on early diagnosis, fostering functional independence, and building inclusive communities. She has also been a frequent guest on the popular Ana Huna podcast, offering thoughtful perspectives on sensory integration, educational interventions, and holistic family support.
In recognition of her tireless efforts, she was awarded the “Al Jaf – Unlimited Giving” Shield. Her dedication extends to her volunteer work with Heroes of Hope, an organization empowering people of determination through sports and physical activity.
